SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submission procedures

  • To be accepted, all manuscripts must be submitted online and adhere to the journal's guidelines. 
  • When your manuscript is prepared according to the format below, please contact us to receive the submission procedures. 
  • The manuscript should relate to the themes and scopes outlined in the latest Call for Papers announcement. 
  • The manuscript, along with the abstract, title, and authors' affiliations, must be in English. 
  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review; therefore, the title page containing the author's details and the abstract must be submitted as a separate file from the manuscript. 
  • The manuscript must be an original work. By submitting a manuscript, authors make the statement that the work has not been previously published and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript copyrights must be accessible for open access publishing.
  • The manuscript shall contribute to the the international knowledge.
  • We value geographical, ethnic and gender diversity in the references cited in the manuscript.
  • Upon receipt of the manuscript, the editors will provide a timeline for acceptance and the peer review process.
  • Pay the registration and submission fees (Announced on the Call for Paper).

To submit

Format for manuscripts

- Use the Word documents template provided by the editors.

- Manuscript files should be uploaded as Word documents. We do not accept PDF files.

- Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (latest edition) in terms of citation style, references, figures, tables, bias in language and all other elements. 

- Full articles, including abstract, and all references should be no more than 5,000 words or 10 pages on the template files, the first limit reached. Tables, figures, footnotes, appendices, and supplementary files are included in this limit. 

- The manuscript shall include the methodology, the citations, and the references.

- We suggest no more than 2-3 tables or figures.

- The title page and the abstract should be submitted separately from the manuscript, so as to enable blinded peer review. 

- The title page is in this format:

  • Title and full name of the author, the surname in capital letters.
  • The complete contact information (address, telephone, and email) and a brief biographical statement for each author (diploma, university, specialization).
  • An abstract (maximum of 200 words) and selected keywords.

- The main manuscript, respecting the limits, is in this format:

  • Page 1 starts with the title and the main text.
  • Text must be in this standard type: 12-point font, single-spaced, Times New Roman, 1.0 inch margins.
  • Page numbers on the bottom right corner (footer) of each page.
  • Footnotes should be avoided or at least kept to a minimum (no more than 2 per page), containing relevant information that cannot otherwise be accommodated in the manuscript. 
  • Citations in text must be as this: Author (Year).
  • References are double-spaced and start on a new page. 
  • References must follow the APA style of referencing (latest edition) and should include these minimum information: AUTHORS (Year). Title, Serie, Publisher. (hyperlinking the DOI if available).
  • References have to be within the 5,000-word limit.
  • Please supply a separate original file for each image, table and figure in high resolution. 
  • Appendices must be short and within the limits.

- All documents shall be revised for grammar and spelling.


NOTE: Manuscripts that do not follow these requirements or are deemed unsuitable for publication will be declined without review.

Copyright

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will be invited to sign a copyright agreement. 

All copyright agreements include the rights of the publisher to publish and promote the work. 

All copyright agreements include the policy of free academic open access to the work.

Article Process Charges (APCs)

The journal has Article Processing Charges (APCs). By implementing APCs, the Journal ensures researches are freely accessible, promoting broader dissemination and impact. These fees are vital for supporting the open-access model of the Journal,  published by Mirault & Levesque Publishing House. The APCs cover costs related to:

  • Peer Review Management
  • Editorial Oversight
  • Production Costs
  • Indexation in related databases
  • Hosting and Maintenance
  • Archiving and Distribution

The Article Processing Charges (APCs) may be partially or fully waived if you are awarded a grant (see details below). Additional charges for services such as translation or proofreading may still apply.

APCs Waiver Grant Application

Thanks to the generous support of various sponsors and donors, the Selection Committee of the Journal may offer a grant to waive part or all the Article Processing Charges (APCs) based on the academic merit and quality of the manuscript. To apply for consideration, please fill out the eligibility form.

Eligibility Conditions for APCs Waiver Grant
To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. The applicants must not have previously received an APCs waiver grant from the JIAO.
  2. The applicants' manuscript must be accepted for publication by the Selection Committee.
  3. The applicants must submit the following document in one (1) PDF file:
    • A short 200-word letter of intention outlining the motivation for applying and the relevance of the manuscript.
    • A list of prior publications.
    • A brief summary of relevant academic or professional achievements.
    • If the applicant has graduated from a 2nd or 3rd cycle program within the past 3 years, a copy of their final transcript in Annex.
  • Optional: A letter of reference from a professor or fellow researcher, attesting to the academic merit of the applicant, is recommended.

The final decision on the eligibility for APCs Waiver Grant, along with the confirmed APCs amount, will be made prior to the final selection stage. Authors will be notified of the grant outcome and can then choose to accept or decline the offer. If accepted, the manuscript will proceed to the final stage of the submission process.

Ethical policies

The Journal's ethical policies request that all authors must declare their affiliation, funding, dispute or conflict of interest related to their work. Per so, the following information must be declared on a separated document:

  • Affiliation information
  • Potential conflicts of interest with an institution, another work, a publisher, a sponsor, etc.
  • Potential disputes with other authors, participants of the research, institutions, etc.
  • Sponsored of funding ("This work was supported by...")
  • A legal statement that the work is original, not submitted elsewhere, and exempt from plagiarism.
